Charisse Davis joined the Cobb County Board of Education in January 2019 after a 15-year career in education.
After growing up in New York City and Orlando and spending summers with family in Puerto Rico, Davis moved to Georgia to attend Spelman College and received a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology.
She started her teaching career working with kindergarteners and helping them to develop a love for learning. After obtaining a Master of Library and Information Science, she became a library media specialist and taught students in grades K through 6.
Davis most recently served as an assistant branch manager and youth services librarian with the public library system.
She lives in the Smyrna/Vinings area with her husband Sean, and her two boys that attend Cobb County Schools. Davis is an avid school volunteer and has served on the local school council and leadership boards of the PTA and parent foundation. As a Cobb County resident for 10 years, Davis draws upon her experiences as an educator and mother to serve the students and employees of the district.
